Blue Pelican Condo Community Room/Amenity Deck

Pool area at ground floor

The design team at BC3 completed the design an interdisciplinary (architecture, landscape design and interiors) project on Key Biscayne. The building is of older stock and needed some updates on the exterior as well as a new vision for the interior. Their current entrance lobby is oversized and the extra space is largely unused. The design team proposed dividing the unused space and splitting it into an entrance lobby and a community room—the latter which would open out onto the pool deck in order to have more usable event space. The overall design concept was guided by a desire to recreate a beach resort in Key West: blue-green hues, warmer sand-like tones and a more relaxed aesthetic.

OUTDOORS

Our exterior scope was to replace the pool deck material, the pool tiling, the perimeter fence, the outdoor furniture and the undersides of the outdoor corridor ceiling. We also proposed new vines and planting throughout the property. For outdoor lounge furnishings we chose furniture from Country Casual Teak, Casita collection.

INTERIORS

For the interior we provided new flooring from Best Tile, Model: Origins For the wall covering we selected St. Bart Serenity from Philip Jeffries. In the dry pantry area backsplash we selected Maya Stacked Dusk Mosaic from Tilebar. And for lighting we chose Fora by Jover from Lumens. The rug is from Handknotted, Braded Jute Rug. For the conference area we selected a table from Spec Furniture: Manhattan Tbase table.

CLOSING

The overall goal was to transform unused and dated-looking space into a community resource that contemporary but warm and inviting.
