Lead by BC3 Landscape Designer, AnaClaudia Magalhaes, the design team in Denver and Miami worked together to complete the third project in Colorado. The scope included a facade upgrade and landscape improvements for Gilmore Construction Group, a 20 year old Denver based General Contractor. Below is the original existing building. The design team had two goals: update the facade by connecting with the areas industrial history and provide a low maintenance landscape design to soften the streetscape. A priority for the architecture of the facade was to provide a durable finish that would not depend on the periodic maintenance required of painting. The white material used for the backdrop of the company logo will be made of fiber cement; the white pigment permeates the entire thickness–ensuring that even as the material surface wears over time it will not require replacement. The team also eschewed paint for the logo and instead chose water jet cut 3/8″ thick corten steel that would be backlit with LED chromatic lighting–allowing our client to change colors seasonally.
